Symform, a cost-effective provider of secure cloud storage, recently hired industry veteran Margaret Dawson as vice president of marketing.
Dawson, a 20-year veteran of the industry will bring global marketing leadership to Symform based on her experience at successful start-ups and Fortune 500 companies.
In her new role, Dawson will lead Symform's marketing strategy, elevating the brand and serving as an evangelist for the company's disruptive cloud storage model.
"Margaret knows how to take a brand and product to market leadership and has the proven experience and passion to build a world-class marketing program," said Matthew J. Schiltz, CEO of Symform, in a release. "We are fortunate to have her on the Symform team, and under her helm the market can expect to see great things coming from our company in the coming weeks and months."
Dawson, an avid speaker and technologist, was recently appointed to the Cloud Connect 2012 advisory board.
Prior to joining Symform, Dawson spearheaded product management and marketing for Hubspan, a leading provider of business-to-business cloud integration services. She has also held senior level communication roles at Microsoft, Amazon.com (News - Alert), Aventail Corporation and The Weber Group.
She is also a frequent author and presenter on cloud computing, network security, integration and other business and technology themes.
Globally, Dawson has spent ten years in the Greater China region, consulting with leading IT companies and government agencies in addition to serving as a foreign correspondent for BusinessWeek magazine.
Academically, Margaret holds a BA in Communication from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.
