Alteva (News - Alert), a cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) solutions provider, is now offering hosted cloud telephony solution to AbelCine, a company specializing in content creation solutions for film and digital media.
AbelCine provides solutions and expertise to professionals and serious content creators in film production, digital cinema, high-speed, 3D, broadcast, new media and communication. Its services range from equipment sales and rental to financing, repair, digital media services, technical consultation and education.
The decision to choose Alteva was a part of AbelCine’s strategy to make communications systems accessible to the entire company, mobilize its field force and equip its staff with modern telephony services.
The company picked the cloud telephony solution to connect its headquarters in New York City and a newly expanded office in Burbank, CA (News - Alert), as well as sales and training from its Chicago, IL office. The UC solution provides internal extension-to-extension dialing, the ability to transfer calls between offices, and integrate Salesforce.com (News - Alert) within the system.
"We wanted bandwidth and consolidation, and Alteva was a good choice because of its redundant network built on the BroadSoft (News - Alert) platform,” said Nathaniel Bonini, director of Services & Information Technology for AbelCine, in a statement. “The key factor in choosing Alteva is that they provide solid support. There is always someone on the other end of the phone when we need them.”
“Our goal is to give our clients the best customer support available -- and mobility is a factor. The ability to manage voicemail via email is a big contributor to the efficiency of the entire company,” Bonini added.
In addition to these capabilities, Alteva's cloud telephony solution allows for greater mobility by allowing staff to switch a call from a desktop handset to a cell phone without interruption.
"AbelCine eliminated its dynamic T-1 based MPLS network and moved all traffic to more efficient Ethernet fiber,” said Valerie Brauckman Burgess of TelecoWorks, a certified unified communications channel partner and AbelCine's consultant. “The move to fiber decreased overall network costs, increased bandwidth and was easier to manage.”
“Alteva's support team managed the migration to the cloud, including porting the customer's phone numbers, scheduling turn-ups and end-user training," Burgess added.
