Data center power monitoring company Server Technology (News - Alert) is trotting all over the U.S. this month and this week the company is gearing up to head to the 2011 BICSI (News - Alert) Fall Conference, taking place Sept. 18-22 in Las Vegas, Nev.
The conference gives participants the chance to receive cutting edge information from industry leaders, see state-of-the-art exhibits and network with ITS professionals from around the world, according to event officials.
“We’ve been attending BICSI for a few years now, simply because we’re able to interact with customers that we don’t see every day,” Julie Brown, marketing manager for Server Technology, told TMCnet. “Our regular customer runs a data center or a telecommunications operation. At BICSI, we get to talk to the data center engineers, the architects, the cabling and construction professionals.”
“It’s great to hear about the new projects they may be working on and discuss how power management and energy efficiency factor into their plans and specifications,” she added. “We’re also interested in talking to potential resellers of our products – we’d love to drive new representation all over the country for our products, and know that resellers are looking to carry our best-of-breed intelligent rack-level power distribution units.”
Server Technology, a company that is exhibiting at booth No. 600, has been providing some of the biggest companies in the world with power management solutions for the past 25 years.
At the event, Server Technology will be displaying its full line of the latest intelligent cabinet power distribution units (CDUs), or PDUs.
“While we make over 1,900 PDUs today – we’re best known for our power expertise and quality and performance of our intelligent units – our Smart PDUS, Switched PDUs and our unique features – Per Outlet Power Sensing and Per Inlet Power Sensing unit,” Brown said. “We’re also particularly excited about our power monitoring, measurement and management solution – Sentry Power Manager (SPM). We just released a new version of SPM 5.0 – with a new world-class interface and a tremendous amount of new functionality.”
“The new SPM version integrates seamlessly with our new CDU firmware (version 6.1), providing customers the most intuitive, user-friendly cabinet power management solution out today for data centers and telecom operations,” she added. “We look forward to discussing our total power management solution with this key audience.”
The Server Technology SPM management pack boasts an SPM Application Program Interface (API) which allows consumers to enjoy graphical measuring, monitoring and trending of data center power through the data center enterprise.
When SPM reports critical rack-level events, configured data in SPM is made available through Microsoft’s (News - Alert) System Center Operations Manager to support decisions for improving data center uptime, increasing energy efficiency, reducing operating costs and minimizing carbon footprint. SPM’s API has the capability to communicate data center information to existing management operations systems, such as System Center Operations Manager, according to company officials.
For Server Technology, the decision on whether to attend the 2011 BICSI Fall Conference was an easy one.
“We like this event because we can communicate and demonstrate our power management products and solutions to people from voice, data, safety, security, wireless, installation, construction – the whole spectrum of possible customers that are looking for data center power and/or telecom operations power management,” Brown said.
“What we look forward to most is talking with and learning from the attendees,” she added. “What in power monitoring and management is important to them today, what projects they’re working on and how we may be able to help them with their power management challenges. “
