Sentry Power Manager (SPM) is the most affordable and accurate system available to measure, monitor and trend data center power. Server Technology (News - Alert), a provider of rack mount power distribution and monitoring solutions that help manage power capacity, reduce downtime and improve energy efficiency, is now offering SPM for over 50 percent off.
Starting this week the new SPM Starter Package will be available for $2500. It includes a virtual version of SPM with a 25-node license, one year of technical support including upgrades and an initial two-hour setup phone consultation where you’ll learn how to discover units, set up permissions, create reports and trends, create locations/cabinets and ftp upgrade configuration.
SPM helps manage today’s biggest data center challenges such as improving uptime, increased power costs, lower power availability, higher density cabinets, capacity planning, green initiatives and continuous measurement.
Using an Application Programming Interface (API) based on industry standard SOAP and REST Web service interfaces allows SPM to communicate information to your existing monitoring and managements systems. API implementation allows SPM to act as "middle ware" streaming information to existing systems while still being available for Cabinet Power Distribution Unit (PDU) configuration, management and control. When managing a large number of CDU's within the data center, a central interface like SPM saves time and effort versus going to each unit’s individual IP address.
The latest version, SPM 5.1, is the most feature-rich, comprehensive version yet. Its new Plug & Play SNAP feature and single pane of glass dashboard makes managing your entire power distribution unit (PDU) network easy.
SPM can be either virtual or appliance and middleware for DCIM integration or stand-alone power monitoring. To see SPM in action, you can visit the live Sentry Power Manager Environment by entering username: spmdemo and password: sti01.
In addition to SPM, Server Technology offers products including smart POPs – per outlet power sensing PDU, fail-safe power redundancy, console port access & remote power management, basic PDU, smart PDU, switched PDU and metered PDU. Its PDUs are enabling data center managers to improve energy efficiency and reduce downtime. Recent advancements in PDUs are facilitating auto configuration for quick delivery of solutions to give IT and infrastructure professionals the control to make accurate capacity planning decisions, reduce risks and meet energy efficiency goals.
