Power Distribution, Inc. (PDI), a Smiths Interconnect business and provider of mission-critical power distribution equipment for data centers, alternative energy, industrial and commercial power markets, announced that it has expanded power distribution sales force.
Officials with PDI said the company has opened a new China office in Guangdong province, providing sales and support options to its expanding base of customers within the region.
In addition to the new China location, the company also recently announced its new office opening in Bangalore, India. Both offices represent a series of strategic moves by PDI to expand its global footprint.
"With the rapid rise of China as a major force in industry and technology, PDI has long been considering ways to enhance its engagement in the local market,” said Jose Luis Crespo, vice president of international sales, PDI, in a statement. “We view our presence in China as a key component of our global strategy.”
Company officials also announced the expansion of its U.S.-based sales team with the addition of Alexis Stobbe as the company's new U.S. sales director, Western Region.
Stobbe brings many years of operational, enterprise software sales and executive leadership consulting experience to the PDI team. He received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and served as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps.
"The need to effectively manage data center power requirements is rapidly growing across the globe," John Day, executive VP sales. "To help address power distribution and power monitoring needs, PDI is quickly expanding its sales force to provide expert sales and service -- no matter where our customers are located.”
