Server Technology (News - Alert) is a provider of data center power solutions that help manage power capacity, reduce downtime and improve energy efficiency. Together with key solutions partners and channel partners, Server Technology provides integrated data center power distribution products, management and solutions for companies around the world.
Leviton Manufacturing Co, Inc. has recently taken a license to a number of patents owned by Server Technology, Inc. that cover technology used in intelligent power distribution units (PDUs). A PDU is a multiple outlet power strip designed to deliver conditioned power to mission-critical networking, server or telecom equipment. Leviton is a provider of the most comprehensive range of solutions to meet the needs of today’s residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Leviton provides connectivity and power infrastructure solutions for some of the most advanced data centers and applications in the world. Its field-terminated, pre-terminated and plug-n-play fiber solutions greatly improve infrastructure flexibility and minimize installation time and system downtime. Many products are fully customizable for any architecture through its exclusive make-to-order (MTO) program.
Server Technology offers hundreds of PDUs, including basic, metered, smart and switched PDUs. The basic PDUs Server Technology offers provide reliable power distribution for all of the devices in the equipment cabinet, from 2kW-6kW per cabinet. Its metered PDUs have local LED input current monitoring and allow network engineers to utilize the PDUs’ True RMS Power Monitor to precisely measure the current (in amps) that network devices are drawing on the power circuit. Its smart PDUs allow users to monitor power, temperature and humidity levels through any Web browser, and you can get simple network management protocol (SNMP) alerts or e-mail alters when any of those things exceed thresholds you have previously assigned.
The Switched CDU (Cabinet Power Distribution Unit) products make managing your data center easier. It provides the capability to securely monitor and control cabinet power via a network for a data center or remote branch office. The Switched CDUs combine networked configuration and management with power distribution and power and environmental monitoring.
