BMC Software (News - Alert) provides an IT service management portfolio to support business services and applications across distributed, mainframe, virtual and cloud environments, encompassing business service management and cloud management offerings.
Recently, BMC Software announced another customer win in the Middle East. mobily, a mobile telecommunications company in Saudi Arabia, selected BMC Software's Cloud Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution to deliver on its key business requirements.
“As a longtime partner of BMC Software, we have been very impressed with the company's approach on business service management and their best practices concerning the automation of our IT services," said Medhat Amer, CIO at mobily.
In addition to deploying BMC Software’s CLM solutions, the telecommunications company also selected BMC Consulting Services. The service helped mobily reduce time for provisioning services from three to four weeks to 35 minutes and increase IT productivity by automating manual capacity management processes, such as provisioning across both the physical and virtual data center environment.
Further, the lifecycle management solution also helped the telco eliminate bottlenecks associated with deploying new applications. The company is able to obtain quick, dashboard-driven access to data that enabled better planning for data center power and cooling requirements over time.
Haithem AlFaraj, VP of IT operations at mobily, said, "The use of BMC Services meant that the implementation and execution of the project was very well organized and efficient. Because of that we were able to manage all the required changes that arose during the implementation process itself."
BMC Software’s cloud solution was very straightforward even for a first-time user, according to Faisal Bakhashwain, mobily's data center planning manager. “BMC is already producing real business savings in terms of user friendliness and the time needed to help our employees get onboard with the solution."
The implementation has helped mobily leverage the benefits of cloud computing in a great way as it has embarked on a major strategic initiative to fully implement cloud and automate its IT infrastructure, the company said.
