Behind your favorite website is a data center hard at work. Data centers house computing systems, storage systems, telecoms and many other parts of an enterprise to ensure smooth and quality performance. As networking and communications technologies play an increasingly strategic role for businesses in virtually every industry, keeping up with current technologies and planning for future innovation is essential for IT partners and customers.
Cisco Live! is an event that brings together an audience including network engineers and C-level executives to network, enhance skills and expand their knowledge. Server Technology, a provider of data center power management and monitoring solutions, has participated as a sponsor for Cisco (News - Alert) Live! London twice before – 2013 marks its third time exhibiting at the event.
“Exhibiting at Cisco Live! is a no-brainer for Server Technology (News - Alert),” Marc Marazzi, VP of International Sales, Server Technology, told TMCnet. “We continually see the event bring the top data center professionals from all around Europe, specifically, data center managers running Cisco devices as part of their infrastructure.”
Today, thousands of data centers globally run Cisco gear in their racks and Server Technology manufactures the cabinet power distribution unit (CDU) solutions that work alongside that Cisco gear. Server Technology is a Cisco-registered developer, offering products that have been validated by Cisco and approved to work in conjunction with its products.
“We feel that it’s important to educate people on the best practices for powering their gear, whether it be for power redundancy, circuit maximization, ease of CDU installation, power monitoring over the network or trending and reporting on that power used in the data center,” explained Marazzi.
The company’s product portfolio includes a range of PDUs, power management and redundancy products and its Sentry Power Manager system, which helps manage today’s biggest data center challenges, from improving uptime and increased power costs to lower power availability and capacity planning.
According to Marazzi, the question is no longer, “How do I monitor my power in my data center?” but “How do I store it and what do I do with that power information?” Data center managers are asking, “What data can I get from my power system and how can I use it to better my facility, to optimize and perfect what I have?” For that, Server Technology has solutions like Sentry Power Manager, and it wants Cisco users to know that.
“Cisco Live! London, like its U.S. counterpart, tends to be a grand show. It’s big, it’s loud and it’s fun to attend. You learn a lot, but they also pull out all the stops when it comes to the entertainment. We are looking forward to our first big show in Europe for 2013. We are ready to kick off a great year,” said Marazzi.
Cisco Live! is designed to hold programs specifically catered toward everyone from network engineers and system engineers to technical individual contributors, service provider engineers and business managers, among other industry leaders. The event, taking place from Jan. 28 to Feb. 1, boasts a variety of keynote sessions, panel discussions and educational programs.
“We have some exciting new product developments new in 2013 and the first data center professionals to hear about it will be the people who meet us at our early 2013 trade shows,” said Marazzi. “We have some new products coming that are going to revolutionize power in the data center.”
