An increasing number of enterprises have been shifting to software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) and cloud-based services as of late, both creating new ways and increasing the distance between end users and their applications. This shift can offer improved output and competence; however, when network latency grows, it unavoidably decreases end-user quality of experience. This has led many Web-based businesses, which greatly depend on customer-facing online applications, to search for online performance acceleration offerings.
In light of this, Radware (News - Alert), a global provider of application delivery and security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, has successfully acquired Strangeloop Networks, one of the major organizations in the online performance acceleration arena. A conference call regarding the acquisition has been scheduled by Radware on February 8, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. ET.
Online applications for organizations are stepping up via Strangeloop's technology. Strangeloop’s customers include O'Reilly Media, Petco, Wine.com and other international e-commerce sites and SaaS providers. Strangeloop utilizes a sophisticated group of proprietary site hastening treatments to abridge and reorganize Web pages instantaneously, thereby offering page content in an extremely proficient manner. A site visitor’s experience is therefore improved, ensuring increased conversion rates and augmented Internet profits.
In a statement, Ilan Kinreich, COO, Radware explained, "By accelerating the web application response time of an enterprise, Radware can enhance their business performance as well as employee productivity. This is an invaluable capability as we've seen an aggressive adoption of SaaS, mobile and cloud technologies where user response time is critical for business continuity."
According to Kinreich, Web-based retailers and financial services highly rely on their customer-facing online applications. Additionally, the two most critical factors for increasing, strengthening and maintaining customer satisfaction include conversion rates and creating revenue for speed and performance.
Joshua Bixby, president, Strangeloop added, "Strangeloop's technology is providing critical web performance optimization solutions. Combining our offerings with Radware, a recognized market leader in application delivery solutions, will enable our clients to outpace their competitors on speed, reliability and overall performance."
The Radware FastView brand will also be used to offer and sell products from Strangeloop. In the next few years, the organization aims to incorporate Strangeloop technology with Radware's award-winning Alteon application delivery controller, or ADC (News - Alert).
