Voip-Pal.Com Inc., a broadband VoIP telecom company offering local and long distance VoIP services to consumers and business owners, is planning to license several of the revolutionary proprietary digital voice technologies contained in the patent portfolio recently acquired from Digifonica International (Gibraltar) Limited.
This move is being made in response to inquiries made by VoIP industry companies.
Officials with Voip-Pal.Com said that VoIP industry has identified five specific patents which contain competitive and licensable technologies, they are-rating-billing-routing engine (RBR); Lawful Intercept (Intercepting VoIP communications and other data communications); Enhanced 911 (Emergency Assistance calling for VoIP communications); Mobile gateway and Uninterrupted transmission of Internet Protocol Transmissions during endpoint changes.
Company officials said that Voip-Pal is currently beta testing these technologies with several major VoIP industry providers in order to establish a monetary value for each patent.
The licensing of these patents can create a highly profitable additional revenue stream for Voip-Pal.Com.
"I am pleasantly surprised at the level of interest shown by major players in the VoIP industry with respect to the patents held by our wholly owned subsidiary, Digifonica International (Gibraltar) Limited. As the company finalizes integration of this technology with our retail site, www.pointsphone.com, Voip-Pal.Com anticipates to be well positioned to not only rapidly gain market share in the VoIP mobile phone market but in a position to earn tens of millions of dollars per year in licensing fees, “ said Dennis Chang, president of Voip-Pal.Com, in a statement.
Chang said that this diversification of the revenue stream should be a substantial bonus to the company’s shareholders.
TMCnet in May reported that Voip-Pal.Com Inc. (Voip-Pal), through its subsidiary Digifonica Limited Gibraltar (Digifonica Gibraltar), has completed beta testing of the recently acquired VoIP patented technologies on its ground-based server. These patents are currently being integrated Into Voip-Pal's Cloud Server.
