Motorola Deploys PremierOne CAD at YCPW ECC

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Motorola (News - Alert) Solutions, Inc recently unveiled an upgraded computer-aided dispatch for York-Poquoson-Williamsburg, or YCPW Emergency Communications Center, in VA. Emergency calls from more than 65,000 York County residents along with a minimum of 25,000 residents of Poquoson County and the City of Williamsburg need to be answered by the York County ECC. The York County ECC also handles the Sheriff’s Office, Department of Fire and Life Safety and the police and fire departments for Poquoson and Williamsburg.

MSI (News - Alert) has implemented PremierOne CAD system at the YCPW ECC. Apart from handling calls in a rapid manner, the revolutionary command and control solution from MSI will assist YCPW in assigning resources in a competent manner and organizing effortlessly with other departments and agencies.

In a release, Terry Hall, chief of Emergency Communications, York-Poquoson-Williamsburg Emergency Communications Center, said, “PremierOne CAD will help dispatchers answer calls more quickly, send help faster, manage resources more efficiently and ultimately cut costs. Interoperability with other counties is crucial for us as we know the importance of a regional communications system for activities like disaster response.”

Workflows can be streamlined, information awareness can be increased to the core and decision making can be enhanced with the strong, geographic information system or GIS-driven incident management offering, PremierOne CAD. Data can be rapidly and instinctively correlated by the system on the basis of location, type of incident, available resources and personnel, thereby assisting call takers and dispatchers in managing the situation in a competent manner. Important functionality is optimized and intricacies are decreased with the perceptive user interface of the system. PremierOne is optimized for a multi-agency environment by ensuring flexibility. An incorporated system can be developed by allowing an unrestricted number of agencies to reside on the same platform.

Jackie Wasni, VP, Sales and Services, Motorola Solutions said, “Motorola Solutions continues to bring next generation public safety solutions to York and Poquoson Counties as well as the City of Williamsburg to ensure the safety and effectiveness of their first responders. They will be able to seamlessly integrate PremierOne CAD with their existing technology to better manage critical incidents, deploy resources more efficiently and improve response times.”
