With companies looking to save money in any possible area, from fuel consumption to IT expenses, it is only natural that many would look to hosted PBX (News - Alert) providers for their telephony needs. These hosted providers give businesses advanced telephony features without the need for expensive hardware installs or dedicated support staff. But, while these hosted IP-PBX services can save companies a great deal of money, they can create other headaches for companies, especially in regards to 911 services.
Businesses need to be aware of emergency services requirements because of both safety concerns and regulatory compliance reasons. And for companies that provide hosted PBX services, there are many challenges in regards to 911, including nomadic users within and beyond the service provider coverage footprint, meeting FCC/CRTC, state and local E911 regulations and efficiently provisioning and maintaining customer records in 911 databases.
Companies or individuals that wish to know more about these issues and how to address them are in luck. At ITEXPO (News - Alert) Austin 2012, to be held at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas from October 2 through October 5, a group of E911 experts will gather for a panel discussion on this very topic. The session, “E911 for Hosted IP-PBX Providers,” will take place at 2:30pm on Wednesday, October 3. Tom Keating of TMC (News - Alert) will moderate the panel and Mike Anderson, national sales director at E911 hosted solutions expert 911 ETC will be among the panelists.
Anderson has lead sales efforts at 911 ETC (News - Alert) since 2001, and is a respected industry expert. He has seen the evolution and advancements of E911 through the years and has spoken at many national Avaya (News - Alert) and Nortel user conferences, speaking about E911 for VoIP, among other topics.
The session will review key E911 challenges faced by hosted VoIP providers and their customers and solutions available to address these challenges.
