911 ETC (News - Alert) is a member of the Avaya DevConnect Marketplace, where its CrisisConnect solution is available as a fully hosted and managed E911 solution that meets state legislation requirements. The company joined the DevConnect (News - Alert) program in 2003 and joined the Select Product Program in 2012. Recently, 911 ETC was featured on the Avaya DevConnect Facebook (News - Alert) page, and Karina Yandell, VP of Business Development at the company, spoke about its focus, history and future.
911 ETC was founded in 1997 to help organizations protect their people with E911. It provides solutions for companies across the United States and in Canada as well. Clients include healthcare institutions, schools, VoIP service providers and companies from small businesses up to Fortune 500 companies. The company’s goal is to keep E911 as simple as possible, offering hosted solutions that eliminate the need for on-premise equipment.
As for the future of the industry, Yandell sees a continuing shift to VoIP as companies continue to flatten, consolidate and extend their networks. This increases the need for E911 hosted solutions, as companies will need to ensure that their 911 calls are routed to the nearest public safety answering point. She foresees more and more companies moving to a fully IP communications environment in the next five to 10 years, and is confident that 911 ETC will stay a step ahead of the technology curve, providing fully managed E911 services.
