911 ETC, Inc. wants to shake its image as the small fish in the pond in the Enhanced 911 industry.
And two recent announcements might accomplish that goal.
In March Larry Scott, the founder of 911 ETC, was recognized as an Industry Leader at the seventh annual 9-1-1 Honors Gala in Washington, D.C.
The award was presented by the E911 Institute in conjunction with National Emergency Number Association, The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials, The National Association of State 9-1-1 Administrators, the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance and the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus.
The award honors individuals who make "exceptional contributions towards the advancement of emergency 9-1-1 communications" in the commercial sector.
"Larry Scott is a great entrepreneur dedicated to emergency communications, paving the way for cutting edge technology solutions in the 9-1-1 field," said Gregory L. Rohde, executive director of the E911 Institute. "He is well deserving of this national recognition."
Scott's recognition comes along side the announcement that his company has surpassed 450 unique E911 implementations.
The company has installed and implemented services in 40 states as well as in Canada for clients ranging from the Social Security Administration and the Department of the Interior to the small businesses.
Scott founded 911 ETC in his home in 1997 and has stayed true to his goal of helping businesses and schools employ E911 solutions that would provide accurate location information during an emergency call.
911 ETC employs full-service solutions for TMD or VoIP systems that work with any platform, including Avaya Aura, Avaya Communications Manager, Avaya IP Office, Nortel's CS1000 and CS2100, Alcatel Lucent's OmniEnterprise, Mitel, NEC, Microsoft's (News - Alert) OCS and PeopleSoft.
