E911 Solutions Now Available for UCaaS Providers

By Meenakshi Shankar, TMCnet Contributor

The emergency response system provides services in the event of an emergency situation. 911 Enable (News - Alert), a source of emergency response solutions for VoIP and unified communications, unveiled comprehensive E911 solutions to address the specific challenges facing UC as a Service (UCaaS) providers.

Many enterprises today are making the strategic decision to move their UC capabilities to the cloud through the use of UCaaS. However, UCaaS providers face certain challenges when it comes to E911. These include implementing a flexible and dependable E911 solution that provides customers with the same E911 experience they would receive from an on-premises solution, while meeting state and federal E911 legislation.

This can be further complicated if the UCaaS provider offers multiple voice platforms, as they would be required to understand and manage various E911 solutions for each platform.

911 Enable’s solutions for UCaaS providers help meet these key E911 challenges in an elegant and cost-effective manner. 911 Enable’s solutions for UCaaS consist of the Emergency Routing Service (ERS) and the Emergency Gateway (News - Alert) (EGW).

“Migrating to UCaaS is a smart decision for many enterprises today, but they shouldn’t have to compromise the quality of their E911 to do so,” said Lev Deich, director of 911 Enable.

“Our solutions for UCaaS providers round out their offering and help them meet their E911 obligations, while providing the E911 functionality customers expect, whatever the UCaaS platform,” Deich added.

The ERS is a carrier-grade E911 call routing service that delivers emergency calls and caller-location information to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) across the U.S. and Canada – a critical functionality required by state and federal E911 regulations.

It is a centralized solution that supports a UCaaS provider’s entire customer base, ensuring reliable E911 calling capabilities for all users.

The EGW is an E911 management appliance that provides UCaaS customers with robust E911 features previously limited to enterprises with on-premises PBXs. It automatically discovers the locations of IP endpoints and provides a complete suite of advanced security notification features, all from the UCaaS provider’s network.

The EGW is available as a hardware appliance or can be virtualized for consistent integration with an optimized virtual environment.

911 Enable’s solutions for UCaaS integrate with today’s leading platforms, including Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution, Avaya Collaborative Cloud, Microsoft Lync, BroadSoft (News - Alert) BroadWorks and more.

911 Enable, a division of Connexon Telecom Inc., is a supplier of E911 solutions for UC. While a number of providers offer companies an alternative to traditional 911, E911 hosted solutions streamline the process and keep costs at a minimum. To know more, click here.
