Founded in 1983, IFS develops, supplies, and implements IFS Applications, a robust suite of enterprise resource planning solutions and works with a variety of industries including service and asset management, manufacturing, supply chain and projects. Within the manufacturing space, IFS North America powers an Engineer to Order (ETO) solution which is basically a manufacturing mode involving collaboration with a customer on the engineering phase of the product lifecycle in order to arrive at a product design that meets the customer’s functional requirements.
With over 2,000 customers located in over 60 countries, the Engineer to Order provider is constantly evolving and jus recently teamed with Prince Minerals, a distributor of specialty mineral products. Prince Materials has a deeply rooted footprint in large number of markets such as glass, foundries, refractories, cement, steel, oil and gas and was in search of a solution that had the functionality needed to support continuous process manufacturing.
That is where IFS came in, as its offerings provide an ultra high level of flexibility that is required to meet demands from various operational requirements of these spaces as well as can rapidly get its solutions up and running that will continue to grow over time.
“We selected IFS Applications to provide real-time visibility across our enterprise, as well as for the efficiencies that will come in our centralized corporate functions including finance,” Prince Minerals Senior Vice President Roderik Alewijnse, said in a statement. “We look forward to immediate improvements in our month-end close processes through streamlined cost and revenue roll-ups. Other efficiencies will come through native support for real-time collaboration across our various departments. IFS Applications will help us to accelerate growth, integrate our business functions and establish worldwide common business practices.”
The most ideal business software needs to support the entire business lifecycle from customer or contract acquisition, project planning, execution, manufacturing or fabrication and, when necessary, installation. It also must offer real-time business control and analysis and establish a single version of the truth for all parties involved in work for customers.
“IFS Applications is often the best choice for diverse and global operations like Prince Minerals,” IFS North America Vice President of Sales, Mike Lorbiecki added. “IFS Applications easily handles a number of business models and modes of manufacturing and can therefore support multiple divisions of a global conglomerate. The fact that we generally sell and support IFS Applications with our own internal teams regardless of where in the world a customer location might be offers a degree of comfort and security that our competitors may not be able to match.”
