Metropolitan Telecommunications (MetTel), a telecommunications solutions provider, announced that its Mobile Device Management (MDM) service will be powered by AirWatch (News - Alert). The company has begun offering MDM along with select MetTel Nationwide Mobile Service packages for free.
MetTel’s MDM offering is a secure, cloud-based software that delivers a consolidated solution to deploy, manage and protect mobile devices from a single, user-friendly interface.
AirWatch will equip MetTel’s (News - Alert) MDM with the capabilities to let users quickly enroll devices in their enterprise environment, configure and update device settings over-the-air, enforce security policies and compliance, secure mobile access to corporate resources, and remotely lock and wipe managed devices.
With AirWatch, one can manage a diverse fleet of Android (News - Alert), Apple, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows devices in a single console.
“Corporate IT managers are facing new mobile device management challenges as companies convert from BlackBerry (News - Alert) handsets to iPhones and smartphones,” said Max Silber, MetTel’s director of wireless services. “MetTel’s wireless services provide an economical and effective alternative to companies looking to save on their wireless service and to maintain a high level of security and control over all their mobile devices, including those owned by employees (BYOD).”
Notable benefits IT administrators will enjoy from MDM include: BYOD and shared device programs; centralize management of mobile platforms; real-time visibility into mobile environment; manage the entire mobile device lifecycle; administer consistent policies across devices; enforce enterprise security and compliance; secure data transmitted to and from devices; complete enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP); increase scale of mobile deployments; and more.
MetTel also offers an end-to-end mobile life cycle management that includes everything from technology alignment and rate plan optimization to device recycling.
