In the past, more and more business transactions have been taking place on both corporate and personal mobile devices. Though the shift into the not-yet-fully secured field might jeopardize the credibility of sensitive corporate data, the change is here to stay. Actually, the best we can do is look for ways to make the whole platform secure to acceptable standards.
In response to the challenge, Verizon has expanded its Enterprise Mobility-as-a-Service offering to give a comprehensive support to enable the management of a wide variety of applications, access options and devices like smartphones, laptops and tablets.
This revamped offer rolls out this month to cater for both medium and large businesses in 30 countries and territories of Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. The solution comes standardized with local currency billing options, and currency and support options.
Main features of the expanded Enterprise Mobility-as-a-Service will include Secure Workspace. It employs Divide by Enterproid to sort and secure professional data on both corporate and employee owned devices, New Mobile Device Management that enables the locking and data wiping of tablets and smartphones remotely by a central administrator. Final on the list of features is Expanded Mobile Wi-Fi Offload Access that enables users to connect to the over half a million hotspots in 90 countries and spots worldwide.
Verizon beats its competitors in the field by offering a unique and powerful package of capabilities available by subscription through prices customizable to suite user requirements. Customers will have to pay a single monthly charge per user, regardless of the number of devices accessing the system for that individual’s business transactions.
Enterprise Mobility’s cloud based service will make it more practical for IT managers to fortify both mobile and stationary computing devices by automatically pushing software updates, IT policies and patches to the global enterprise staff. In addition to this, the service provides real time, detailed inventory reports on all hardware, software and devices under the corporate ownership.
An easy- to-use self-service portal will see to it that employees remain productive by allowing them to download authorized enterprise apps. These apps will enable the adoption of more than one service hence increasing team productivity.
