Central Wisconsin based Element Mobile is in its element as it sets about enhancing video experience for its eight-county home network. It plans to do this by partnering with global provider Bytemobile (News - Alert) and enhancing video streaming for Element customers.
Bytemobile’s flagship product –Unison- is expected to enable smartphone and feature phone Element customers to optimize video. The Unison (News - Alert) Platform enables mobile network operators to increase available bandwidth to cater to growing demand from subscribers.
In addition, it helps operators address and resolve network congestion and also dynamically manage video and Web traffic depending on network conditions. This ensures a higher quality of experience for all customers.
Put simply, it means that Web-enabled devices can download videos faster, cache faster and store commonly used videos very easily. As this translates into reduced buffering time and a decrease in network congestion, Element customers can breathe easier and enjoy enhanced multimedia delivery and quality mobile HD video viewing.
"Unison allows each customer to experience the best quality of video depending on their device," said Aymar, chief operating officer at Element Mobile, and added, "Essentially, it customizes video for each handset downloading or viewing video."
The process of implementing Unison began in October 2012 and Element Mobile does have big plans to further enhance network experience for customers. In addition to adding new towers, it plans to add more features and upgrades to the network.
Element Mobile customers in Waupaca County are experiencing improved service thanks to the addition of a new cellular tower south of Manawa and west of New London, along Highway 54. John Steele, director of engineering and network operations at Element Mobile, said the new tower will host more calls, increase data and network speeds, and expand coverage.
