Pantech, one of Korea's top mobile handset makers, has recently announced that it is using Lifevibes SoundExperience solution as part of the multimedia software stack on its Android smartphone devices.
LifeVibes SoundExperience from NXP Software (News - Alert) is a suite of audio enhancements for media players on any platform. It promises to deliver rich, natural 3D audio, with full 5.1 and 7.1 home cinema surround sound. Enhancements include bass boost, treble enhancement, an equalizer and a spectrum analyzer. Users can enjoy 3D audio on headphones, handsets and tablet speakers. Automatic volume leveling ensures different tracks play at the same level. And a ‘loudness maximizer’ gets the most from mobile devices’ small speakers for music playback and ringtones.
"We are getting very positive user feedback on the audio effects and rendering enabled by LifeVibes SoundExperience running on the Pantech Discover", says Gary Cherner, VP of Sales, Marketing and Product planning for Pantech North America.
"Our attention is now turning towards power consumption, and Pantech and NXP Software Engineering are working together to reduce the power consumption down to minimum levels for background music playback using the LPA or Low Power Audio, a Qualcomm (News - Alert) chipset capability.”
Pantech officials said that they are also using the special audio software enhancements to maximize the loudness of the device without any increased risk of damaging the speaker(s) of the device.
Nicolas Sauvage, Marketing & Sales Director for the OEM Business Line at NXP Software commented: "NXP software is proud to contribute to Pantech's device differentiation with our best-in-class, white-labeled SoundExperience solution, resulting in Pantech customer approval and some remarkably positive user feedback.”
NXP Software is a global independent software vendor for mobile voice and multimedia.
