In an effort to provide customers with access to carrier-class data storage, disaster recovery and data replication services, Kansas City-based Arsalon Technologies, a provider of Internet infrastructure technology and services, has partnered with managed services provider, tw telecom (News - Alert).
Arsalon was in need of a partner that would help it provide its customers with fast, highly reliable and cost-effective access to its hosting facilities.
Under the terms of the agreement, tw telecom will offer Business Ethernet and Internet connections with burstable capability to connect Arsalon data centers to tw telecom's nationwide fiber infrastructure and IP backbone network with multiple 10 Gbps connectivity.
As a provider of integrated and converged network solutions, tw telecom will be offering Arsalon with redundant IP core architecture, diverse network routes, and strong peering relationships with regional, national, and international networks.
Consequently, Arsalon's customers can connect to the company’s carrier-class hosting facilities through tw telecom's highly reliable fiber-based nationwide fiber IP backbone.
Arsalon offers Internet infrastructure technology and services through a local community-based Internet infrastructure center supporting the needs of technology community.

tw telecom specializes in Ethernet and transport data networking, Internet access, local and long distance voice, VoIP, VPN and security. According to the company, it has the third highest market share of retail Business Ethernet ports in service. It has its own metro fiber networks and features one of the ten most interconnected IP backbones in the world, according to the company.
"Arsalon Technologies is a natural partner for tw telecom," said Tim Bagnieski, vice president and general manager for tw telecom in Kansas City, in a statement. "We are excited to bring a captive audience to their complete suite of data center products."
In recent news, as reported by TMCnet, Texas awarded tw telecom with a 5-year contract, in order to provide a comprehensive suite of network solutions to all State agencies and departments.
In addition, tw telecom also helped Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI) establish its first IPv6 commercial Internet connection, as reported by TMCnet. tw telecom has been offering IPv6 services to its customers since 2008 and its IP networking infrastructure has long been IPv6 compliant.
