UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS magazine has awarded the 2007 Product of the Year Award to Patton’s (News - Alert) SmartNode 4650 Multiport ISDN VoIP
IAD with G.SHDSL.bisInterface.
Patton’s SN4650 interconnects existing TDM and ISDN- PSTN
infrastructures with SIP and H.323 VoIP equipment and the (IP-based) unified communications cloud. This is achieved by combining an on-board G.SHDSL.bis port with dual Ethernet ports, and upto 5 BRIs for 8 concurrent calls.
VoIP Product Manager, John Wu said in a statement that they are honored to receive this prestigious award. He noted that in the current frenzy, certain vendors are hyping their UC features as hot news, yet SmartNode has been unifying communications for years.
SmartNode offers every industry-standard interface combined with SessionRouter call-routing
and numbering-plan adaptation. The solution has provided universal dial-plan support for unified communications for over five years along such features as DownStreamQos for enhanced voice quality.
“Patton has proven their commitment to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace,” said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), Editor-in-Chief of UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS in a statement.
“As we grant the 2007 Product of the Year award to their SmartNode 4650, we look forward to future innovative solutions from Patton.”
This is the fifth major award SmartNode has claimed since 2005. Patton bagged Internet telephony magazine's Product of the Year for 2005, 2006 and 2007. The company’s converged customer solution won the2007 Excellence Award.
Recently, Patton released their Unified Communications (News - Alert) Agent (UCA) for SmartNode VoIP routers. The new release provides VoIP and data survivability via dial-backup and IP-link redundancy, voice and data security viaVoice-over- VPN, and presence/reachability via SIP
Registrar.
