A recent article from a local Maryland-based paper detailed Bobby Patton’s (News - Alert) participation in promoting the benefits of exportation. Patton Electronics has always been at the forefront of technological developments, and as such a company, has stayed on top of the trends over the years. The author noted that Patton’s trip took place in the “early years” of the business, but the message still rings true today: exportation is not to be feared for manufacturers.
Recalling Patton’s European vacation-turned-promotional-visitation-to-various-hotels, author Shantee Woodards wrote, “Patton shared his company history at Anne Arundel Community College recently, during a session designed to encourage manufacturers to export their products. He said businesses often are reluctant to expand overseas because of the risk.”
As the U.S. is currently bogged down in the throes of economic trial, businesses are weighing fear and risks even as they were when Patton Electronics began its global journey in the international market.
‘”Because of fear and uncertainty, they say no’ to international prospects, said Patton, who founded his manufacturing company with his brother in 1984. ‘You can make some mistakes, and they're not going to hurt you. Once you get over the initial fear, the floodgates open,’” Woodards wrote.
Patton Electronics is still pulling ahead at full steam today, having recently just appointed a new leader for its South Asia operations, and constantly engaging in learning opportunities and educational webinars.
In a webinar to take place Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. CT, Patton will present information on how its Ethernet Extender solutions can “amplify long-range Ethernet over existing voice-grade copper wiring,” according to the company. Don’t miss it!
