It shouldn’t come as a shock that when employees are happy, so too are the customers. Satisfied employees are more likely to go the extra mile to ensure the customer experience is superb. A recent survey can apply to a provider of Ethernet extender, VoIP gateways and VoIP routers, showing that companies with fewer than 100 employees produce notably happier results.
According to the survey, featured in this Inc.
article, employees in companies with fewer than 100 employees are around 25 percent happier than employees employed by companies with 1,000 or more. These results span 90 countries, but it’s not all about company size; according to the survey, younger workers (under 40) aren’t as satisfied as older workers.
The level of skill required of the job also matters – unskilled workers tend to be less content than the skilled workers. In other words, if management is grinning, there is a reason. According to the survey, supervisors are around 27 percent happier than the employees they govern. The people with direct connections to solving problems are also getting more out of their eight-hour shifts.
According to the survey, those who work in direct services and care giving roles are an astounding 75 percent happier than others. Is it possible that filling a role that requires the employee to serve others can be more rewarding?Happier employees make for a more productive company.
