Endace Introduces World's First 100G Network Monitoring System

Enabling companies to improve their network access, Endace has introduced EndaceAccess 100, a brand new 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100G) that provides Network Visibility Headend.

EndaceAccess network visibility headend systems provide companies with access to network traffic on 100G network segments. For companies on the leading edge of networking, the ability to monitor, protect and record network traffic on 40G and 100G segments is critical, but because 100G tools simply did not exist until now, they have been unable to access their traffic.

By ingesting 40G or 100G traffic and load balancing traffic out over numerous 10Gbps ports, the EndaceAccess family of headend systems caters to the problem of ultra-high speed network access. According to the company, this means that 10Gbps monitoring or security tool can now be used in 40G and 100G environments.

Making it practical to be installed in both the data center and WAN environments, the system can be adjusted to support LAN or WAN protocols.

“Until today, there has been no way for organizations to get visibility into 100G network segments, which has slowed 100G adoption,” said Spencer Greene, senior vice president, product management and marketing at Endace. “The EndaceAccess 100 enables organizations to leverage their existing 10 Gbps capable tools in a 100G environment. Previously, when the world moved from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps networking, the ability to leverage existing tools in this way proved to be a major advantage for organizations.”

Last year, the company launched the EndaceProbe 3820, a data acquisition product that comes with sub-6.5E-6 Joule-per-Packet power consumption and provides 4 x 10 Gb/s lossless data acquisition. Companies can now get guaranteed continuous lossless packet capture on four configurable 10 Gb/s monitoring ports. To receive and transmit different framing formats, including SONET (OC-192) and 10 GbE LAN/WAN, each monitoring port can be configured.

In related news, Patton (News - Alert) Electronics, a provider of VoIP equipment including Ethernet Extenders, VoIP gateways and VoIP routers, was recently awarded the 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award for its IP-communications solution delivered for the logistics and supply-chain management firm, Norbert Dentrassangle (ND), Italy operations.  This serves as the company’s third Excellence Award and eleventh major industry award for its renowned SmartNode brand of VoIP solutions over the last seven years.

Alessio Miranda, project manager for IP Phone (News - Alert) Solutions at TECHLAN Reti, raved that the company confidently went with Patton because, to put it simply, “SmartNode is VoIP that works.”

“SmartNode equipment is so reliable, compact and flexible to implement that we decided to use only Patton VoIP devices for all our future projects,” Miranda added.
