FTTH broadband connections are on the rise in U.S. as it provides faster broadband connections to home users. Also, experts believe that FTTH is the only technology that is equipped to handle consumer demands in the next decade.
Zhone Technologies (News - Alert) has announced that the company has registered impressive growth for its Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON), Active Ethernet (AE) and Very-High-Bit-Rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL2) connectivity.
Selling in excess of 3 million GPON ports, the company has earned more than 30 million subscribers. Being one of the top 5 companies in the FTTx market, the company has stated it has been exceeding its own projections when it comes to sale of FTTx solutions.
Customers like North State make use of the company’s ONT technology to provide IPTV (News - Alert) and video services. Zhone Technologies helps its customers to provide these services with technologies such as fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). The company’s FiberHome (News - Alert) portfolio includes MXK platform.
As an extension of its FTTx solutions, the company provides Zhone FiberHome, which provides high-speed broadband connectivity even in places where broadband is not offered. This is an important solution as most of today’s applications require high-speed broadband connection.
“Zhone's MXK Platforms, combined with zNID™ GPON and AE Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) and Zhone Management System (ZMS) provide customers with the opportunity to expand network reach and service offerings, giving them the means to stay competitive," explained Brian Caskey (News - Alert), chief marketing officer at Zhone. Each of our solution portfolios - the IP Zhone, Zhone FiberHome and Zhone FiberCell - allow customers to sustain and enhance the value of their own copper, fiber and Ethernet investments for the long-term while designing a future-proof network.”
