With the evolution of the telecom industry towards VoIP, the Latin American market is in need of carrier-class products.
That's why Patton, a Gaithersburg, Md.-based provider of business and carrier-class network access, connectivity, VoIP and triple-play equipment, is in perfect timing.
The company last week announced an agreement with ABP Technology,a distributor of IP Telephony and IP Video solutions.
Under terms of the strategic partnership ABP has been appointed as the "Master Distributor" for Patton's SmartNode VoIP Gateway (News - Alert) product line in the Americas.
"A wide variety of protocols and standards are employed throughout Latin America," said Robert Messer, ABP's (News - Alert) president. "Patton addresses this unique challenge with the industry's most stable and complete implementation of ISDN standards-including support for the many variants of MFC/R2."
Company sources added that Patton (News - Alert) has engaged ABP with the sole purpose of storming the Americas by distributing VoIP equipment to key reseller partners across the United States, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.
"ABP understands the region's widely varied economic conditions and rich cultural diversity," said Ernesto Casas, Patton's regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean. "Longstanding experience with IP solutions and strong market share in the service-provider and reseller sectors is a winning formula."
With the agreement in place, resellers will be able to view the ABP online storefront for Patton's full range of VoIP gateways which includes carrier-class products for service providers and enterprise-class products for small to medium-size businesses.
Patton SmartNode is most suitable as its carrier and business-class gateways offer the best performances cost-effectively. Service providers prefer to leverage the touchless provisioning and configuration features of the SmartNode CPEs, Messner said.
Patton's RealityCheck initiatives have proved that SmartNode CPEs provide the maturity, stability and technical innovations required by businesses and carriers. Patton equipments are manufactured in the United States which further boosts transactions with partners in NAFTA countries and Latin America, he added.
In 2009, Patton's SmartNode was selected for the INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award given by TMC (News - Alert). Patton is also slated to sponsor ABP's upcoming reseller conference, IP Sizzles, in May this year.
Dallas-based ABP Technology is a value-added distributor of IP Telephony and IP Video solutions marketed throughout North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. The company's portfolio of products includes VoIP phones and IP-PBXs, IP peripherals, IP paging products, IP Digital Signage, IPTV (News - Alert), Gateways, Mobility solutions, IP Surveillance Cameras and video analytics solutions.
