InnoMedia (News - Alert) announced that it has inked an agreement with Clearcable Networks for the distribution of InnoMedia ESBC products in Canada.

According to company sources this agreement entails Clearcable to deliver products anywhere in Canada where it caters to the mid-market MSO needs. It will be able to facilitate the adoption of Smart-DQoS technology as the premier solution to voice system bandwidth prioritization using InnoMedia’s ESBC 8528-4B.

The InnoMedia ESBC with Smart-DQoS technology is based on InnoMedia’s Device-initiated DQoS technology, revealed official sources.

“We are excited to be the first solution provider to distribute the InnoMedia ESBC 8528-4B and make it readily available in Canada,” said Rob McCann, president of Clearcable Networks. “This is a much needed solution for voice over cable because of its simplicity and performance. Using the InnoMedia ESBC 8528-4B, Clearcable will be able to deliver the optimum solution for high quality hosted voice and SIP trunks on all systems,” McCann added.

Dr. Nan-Sheng Lin, president of InnoMedia, said he was pleased on implementing this agreement with Clearable Networks. He added that InnoMedia’s quest for a suitable distribution partner with same commitments to quality has been solved with the location of the new partner.

“Clearcable’s excellent reputation and years of experience in the industry make them uniquely qualified to understand MSO needs for success in this rapidly growing market and the value of Smart-DQoS technology,” Dr.Lin added.

InnoMedia sources explained the capabilities of the ESBC 8528-4B saying that it is a suitable demarcation solution for Cable Operators to deliver SIP trunking and hosted voice telephony besides also offering broadband Internet service to enterprise customers. Located at the network edge, the ESBC 8528-4B enables NAT and firewall traversal, permitting VoIP traffic to enter the network at the same time preventing unauthorized access.

The ESBC 8528-4B also supports SIP normalization and it ensures interoperability with enterprise customer equipments like IP-PBX (News - Alert) or IP Phones. The ESBC, with an embedded cable modem is capable of supporting end-to-end QoS to allow MSOs to deliver optimized call quality for the first time.

The Smart-DQoS technology helps InnoMedia’s ESBC 8528-4B to establish UGS service flows eliminating the need for network Policy Servers. This helps simplify network setup considerations for MSOs. It has been effective in improving voice quality for both hosted and on-premise VoIP services provided by MSOs, according to market feedback reports.
