FaxCore Streaming Costs and Technologies for Businesses

By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor

It seems a day doesn’t go by in which we aren’t bombarded with newscasters presenting various views on the economy and how businesses are adjusting to these stressful times. Inevitably, the talking heads talk about the obvious: companies in a difficult economic environment need to make their operations more efficient.

But while broadcasters usually paint their subjects with a wide brush, executives don’t have that luxury. One critical, but seldom mentioned, area for many companies that is often overlooked is in existing technologies. In fact, many companies already have a plethora of technologies at their disposal to help streamline business, but many of the components have neglected to fully integrate those capabilities. This can be both wasteful and inefficient, the very things everyone is trying to avoid on this economic climate.

Max Schroeder (News - Alert), senior vice president at FaxCore, says areas that are most overlooked are common tasks such as customer/client invoicing, monthly statements, order processing and forms processing such as loan or insurance documents.

This, says Schroeder, is an area that a True 21st Century Fax Server can tackle.
“Not only can some of these operations be fully automated to reduce employee time, some of these tasks will generate an immediate return on investment in real dollars,” said Schroeder.

Schroeder says the savings can be seen in many “real world” examples. For starters, look at the cost of a USPS (News - Alert) mailing of 10,000 monthly statements which would be in the range of $10,000 with a manual system.

”An automated fax process would probably cost less than $500 in actual billable phone minutes,” said Schroeder.

A fax is a fully legal document and the FaxCore (News - Alert) server retains records of all transactions such as date, time and successful receipt of the document. This makes the process not only more efficient, but also more secure.

Of course, the above example only makes sense if the integration of the accounting and fax server applications is a simple and inexpensive process. With FaxCore customers have the ability to integrate easily with other applications using a simple print-to-fax feature which is perfectly suited to the above example. Other process and workflow integrations may require other FaxCore features including:

  • Integration with Exchange (2003, 2007)
  • Web Service / SOA SDK
  • SharePoint Server 2007 Native Integration
  • Active Directory
  • FaxCore is built on Microsoft (News - Alert) .NET Framework for easy development
Schroeder also noted that the above features are all standard and included in the purchase price of the FaxCore Server Application License. They are also features that may very expensive or simply not available in most other fax server products.

“Whether you are looking for a fax server solution for the first time or your current product is not a True 21st Century Product you owe it to yourself to contact FaxCore today,” said Schroeder.
