If you work in an office environment, you’ve had homicidal feelings about your fax machine. The constant paper jams, poor transmission quality and disconnected numbers can make even the most even-tempered person want to reach for the nearest sledgehammer.
With HelloFax, you can ditch your fax machine and enter the low-maintenance world of Internet fax. Simply upload or drag and drop the document that you want to fax onto the HelloFax website.
Once your file is uploaded, send it to either a fax machine or an e-mail address.
The company also has an innovative way of allowing you to electronically sign documents. You can choose to upload an image file of your signature, sign your document with your mouse or take a photo of your signature and e-mail it to HelloFax, where your signature will be on file to use anytime you want to send a fax.
HelloFax has a plug-in for Google Chrome and also has tools for integration with Dropbox and Box (News - Alert).net
For no cost, customers can create a HelloFax account. The account comes with five free fax pages, unlimited signature e-mails and five free signature requests. All fax pages beyond the five free pages cost 99 cents each.
In addition to the free package, HelloFax offers paid packages ranging from $4.99 per month to $69.99 per month. The accounts include more fax pages and signature requests in addition to giving customers their own fax number to receive incoming documents.
HelloFax CEO Joseph Walla told TechCrunch that he started the company in 2010 to help people to create a paperless office. “We are tackling the paper problem,” said Walla. “If you want to go paperless you need all of this hardware and software to make it happen.”
Walla’s next frontier is to create mobile apps for scanning documents from a smartphone for uploading onto HelloFax. Then, he wants to create a cloud portal for document storage and search.
“The big vision is that we become a repository for all of your important documents,” Walla explained. Until then, you can still utilize HelloFax and kiss your fax machine goodbye.
