Ben Venue Laboratories, a producer of sterile injectables that improve people’s health and quality of life, reportedly selected and implemented Plus Technologies’ OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) print software. The software also helped Ben Venue easily transition from its existing HP OpenSpool software.
The OM Plus DM software was selected to cater to Ben Venue’s requirement for a print spooler that can receive documents from multiple systems, route text data to Optio e-forms engine, route formatted documents to the printer, restart failed print jobs from any page in a document, run on Windows, Linux and their current HP-UX 10.20/11.00 system and deliver single viewpoint of the entire print infrastructure to administrators.
According to Plus Technologies, its OM Plus DM software supposedly replaces the function of native spooling systems at the operating system level. While other native spooling systems usually handle a “fire and forget” approach, OM Plus print management software keeps print jobs so that print confirmation, re-printing, re-routing, automated fail-over, load balancing, bundling, re-sequencing and other features are possible.
With OM Plus DM, Ben Venue Labs was able to replace a discontinued software solution with a feature rich, fully supported product.
Some of the notable features of the OM Plus DM software are: user interface with unified view of all servers, queues, and print jobs; confirmation of print via bi-directional printer job language; automated notification of print errors; page level re-starts, re-direct; automated failover and load balancing; intelligent, condition based routing; document bursting and bundling; page range printing; delivery of print jobs to email or fax servers; thick and zero footprint interfaces; SAP (News - Alert) Certified; and more.
In related news, Plus Technologies worked with Cerner (News - Alert) to streamline Millennium EMR print output and provided mobile printing software app for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
