Canon (News - Alert) U.S.A, a provider of imaging and fax solutions for enterprises and small businesses, announced the launch of two new laser printers-- Color imageRUNNER LBP5280 and the imageRUNNER LBP3480, each offering compact color and monochrome printing, respectively.
The new printers provide enterprise workgroups and Managed Document Services customers with a cohesive, consistent and easily managed printing solution.
With Canon’s Content Delivery System, service providers deliver remote firmware and software updates to customers with limited or no business interruption.
With standard DeviceLink integration, users can automatically route inbound faxes from an imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP to the new printer models, making receiving faxes both more convenient and secure, while cutting costs by reducing the number of fax lines an organization needs.
An advantage of the printer solutions is that they utilize MEAP - Canon’s pioneering application platform, bringing MFP workflows to the desktop printer. The first of several MEAP applications for the models will be uniFLOW, which allows users to easily release secured print jobs from the highly flexible uniFLOW document output server without the need for release station hardware.
Each model seamlessly integrates with and complements Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs workflow. They also feature imageWARE Enterprise Management Console and unified print drivers. They deliver excellent usability, ease of management, and exceptional integration with Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs.
The Color imageRUNNER LBP5280 and imageRUNNER LBP3480 desktop printers offer class-leading low energy usage, meeting all ENERGY STAR (News - Alert) and RoHS requirements through the eco-conscious design.
The printers are equipped with a 5-line LCD to provide on-screen navigation with a scrolling display. To add convenience, the printers include USB Direct Print, allowing users to print documents from a USB drive without a computer; and Encrypted Secured Print, enabled with the optional SD Card (News - Alert).
“The economy has driven companies to be flexible and to invest intelligently in printing solutions that save time, energy and money,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Marketing, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A, in a statement.
“The newest additions to the imageRUNNER lineup have been developed with these needs in mind, and bring a small-format, low-cost device with advanced features that fit into practically every printing workflow,” Yoshida added.
Another important feature of the Color imageRUNNER LBP5280 and the imageRUNNER LBP348 is that they fully support imageWARE Remote and Canon’s innovative Content Delivery System. With imageWARE Remote, Canon’s eMaintenance solution, Canon Authorized Dealers can proactively and securely monitor usage, relay status, and even report errors, saving customers valuable time and resources.
Recently at the American Bar Association's Techshow 2012 Legal Technology Conference & Expo at the Chicago Hilton & Towers, Canon showcased its imageFormula digital document scanners and imageRunner Advance Multifunction Printers.
