When Gmail came into vogue, small and medium-sized businesses rejoiced at having access to advanced features and unlimited storage that only larger corporations enjoyed. Today, businesses that are looking for ways to economize have reason to cheer as Google Fax has been launched.
Google (News
- Alert) Fax is integrated with Gmail, Google's e-mail service. As a result, users can use the same interface for their fax needs, saving money, time and effort.
“The ability to fax from Google will help businesses cut time and costs and help them increase their bottom line,” said Paolo Parodi, proprietor of e-mail fax services.
One of the main benefits of integrating this fax technology is that businesses and individuals can acquire a unique fax number with the option to choose between local and toll-free numbers.
Users need to have a valid e-mail address from Gmail.com and a fax company to deliver the faxes. The fax company offers a virtual number and a fax bundle.
Using the compose feature in Gmail, attach the documents that need to be faxed. Enter the destination fax number followed by the company's e-mail domain, click on the send button and your fax is on its way.
Sending faxes via Google is very much like sending an ordinary e-mail, the only difference being that the faxes themselves are handled as e-mail attachments.
Now businesses of all sizes and even individuals can send and receive faxes economically and also contribute their mite to saving the environment.
Although the majority of services currently have options only for users in the United States, some services are offering Google Fax to Canada and the United Kingdom.
Presently, there is no fax service that will allow users to send and receive faxes for free through Gmail, but those who want more information about the new service can get it here. Parodi, who started E-mailfaxservices, is also offering a step by step guide.
