Want to save some money? Send your faxes via the cloud. At least, that's one critical lesson that's coming out of the recent launch of the CloudFAX400 system from International Presence, a system that's looking to help businesses — especially those that send out larger volumes of faxes — save some money on communications costs.
While the concept of saving money by using cloud technology for voice calling has been well established in recent months, similar savings aren't so often considered for faxes, which in many cases are still in wide use. The CloudFAX400 looks to help make that a reality by not only offering up many of the standard features expected of an enterprise-level fax server — desktop faxing, automatic document routing, OCR / Barcode Scanning and several others — but also brings in some added advantages all its own.
Since CloudFAX400 is cloud-based, it doesn't depend on having large amounts of equipment on the premises to operate successfully. Phone (News - Alert) line costs, hardware maintenance costs, employee costs to keep the hardware and phone lines up and operational...all these things fall away when using a cloud-based service, as the providers of the cloud service generally do all those things themselves. Better yet, using a cloud-based service allows users to keep their points of failure to a minimum; when something goes wrong with a server-based fax solution, it could be the servers, it could be the lines, it could be the software. But when something goes wrong with a cloud-based solution, there's something wrong with the cloud-based solution, and that's largely the only thing that can be wrong. Even better, fixing it is someone else's responsibility entirely. Security is also a top priority with CloudFAX400, and as a result, complies with a variety of security protocols including HIPAA, PCI (News - Alert), SAS-70, NIST and more.
Of course, cloud services also have some issues — businesses who like to have control over their own processes may not like that the cloud-based service handles everything, and when it goes wrong, only the service's people can respond to the problem, who will then fix it on their own timetable — but considering that CloudFAX400 has support teams in both the United States and the United Kingdom, it's a safe bet that any problems found will be fixed rapidly. Those interested in migrating their faxing duties to CloudFAX400 should contact International Presence for more details.
Faxing is still a major means of communications for many companies, and as such, a reliable faxing solution that allows for faxes to go out without the need for complicated and expensive hardware — not to mention long-distance phone costs (or even local phone costs in some cases) -- is a valuable thing indeed for those companies. CloudFAX400, meanwhile, should go a long way toward providing that necessary solution.
