It’s that time of year again—here comes ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2012, a not-to-miss communications and technology event that will be taking place from October 2-5, 2012 in the Austin Convention Center in Austin, TX. This conference allows everyone and anyone involved within the communications and technology community to join together for a week of business-building, networking and the discovery of new products and solutions. And Georgia-based fax provider Commetrex (News - Alert) wouldn’t miss it for the world and can be found right in the exhibit hall.
For over 15 years now, the fax organization has been at the forefront of all newly released fax solutions and has assisted customers in moving away from traditional fax and towards IP fax. It ramps up time-to-market for fax offerings significantly in addition to slashing development costs typically associated with value-adding technologies.
I recently had the chance to speak with Mike Coffee, president and CEO of Commetrex all about the company’s plan at the upcoming event. He said, “ITEXPO provides a great platform for us, especially with the access it gives to us to speak face to face with ITSPs.”
Coffee is bursting at the seams as he is heavily anticipating the keynote presentation from Raymond Dolan, president and chief executive officer of Sonus Networks (News - Alert), which is slated to take place at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 4th. Before becoming part of Sonus, Ray held the position of chief executive officer of QUALCOMM/Flarion Technologies, an organization that develops mobile broadband communications technologies.
“Eager to get out there and reconnect with the industry,” he revealed that he expects one of the biggest trends to come out of the show to be cloud-based unified communications seamlessly integrated with FoIP that works.
It is important for Commetrex to take part in ITEXPO West 2012 because it serves as a great reinforcement to its fax channel and acts a forum where it can showcase its Smart ATA, FaxTap for SIP and Smart ACS (News - Alert) products that are in essence FoIP in a box for an ITSP.
Just today in fact, FaxTap for SIP made its official debut. This robust fax solution targets the FoIP analysis and lawful intercept markets, allowing network operators and equipment vendors to analyze FoIP calls and render the image with ease even if the call uses a high-speed V.34 fax modem.
According to Marilyn Troup, Commetrex’s marketing director, “For years, fax-over-IP has been shuttered in the enterprise network where users have racked up major savings by avoiding the expense of fax boards and dedicated fax lines. But now, with SIP trunking becoming ubiquitous, enterprises are bypassing the gateway and sending faxes directly into carrier networks. This presents users, both subscriber and provider, with a whole new set of problems that can only be solved with the proper tools, not to mention requirements for lawful intercept. That’s where Commetrex’ new FaxTap for SIP enters the picture.”
In addition, NetGen Communications, Inc., a spin-off of Commetrex Corporation, unveiled version 2.0 of its Smart ATA product, complete with Commetrex’s patent-pending Smart FoIP.
Smart ATA is completely redefining next-generation standards-based voice fax gateways and it touted as the industry's first analog telephone adapter to include T.38 version three with V.34 as well as the only ATA that offers reliable FoIP when making calls to carrier networks.
