Fax has been around for a long time and usually things that stay in use for the long term especially in a business setting where these organizations must constantly meet increasing and changing demands from customers, are there for a reason. And fax is here to stay for a multitude of reasons such as the fact that it will alert users once a fax has been successfully sent to its destination which drives efficiency, it can manage large files and even creates audit trails.
In fact, when adopting a fax-to-e-mail offering, your organization can significantly cut costs as you longer need to rely upon a large amount of paper and it becomes incredibly easy to send faxes to and from your computer.
According to a recent article, “Fax to e-mail services often let you send and receive multiple faxes at once; offering greater flexibility than your average small business gets from its one-line fax machine. You can even set up email filtering rules to divert different incoming faxes to different staff members.”
In addition, users who turn to fax can utilize their current number for faxing, with some providers giving you the option to transfer your fax line from your existing telco to the fax provider if you desire to do so.
Commetrex, a major fax provider, recently attended SIPNOC, a not-to-miss event that drives equipment vendors around the world to find out how they can overcome obstacles and barriers that are associated with the deployment of SIP-based networks.
After participating in the event, Commetrex’s CEO Mike Coffee stated that some of the important information he gathered was, “If you are a SIP stakeholder, you should be a SIP Forum (News - Alert) member. And if you are responsible for SIP-based products or networks, seriously consider attending next year’s SIPNOC.”
The fax provider recently unveiled its new fax-related product, FaxTap for SIP which boasts the ability to enable network operators and equipment vendors to analyze FoIP calls and render the image with ease even if the call uses a high-speed V.34 fax modem.
“ SIPNOC is unique in its absence of promotion and industry press. (It was wall-to-wall geeks.) This attendee profile is reflected in the presentations and birds-of-a-feather meetings. Kicking it off was Henning Schulzrinne (News - Alert), the father of SIP and the CTO of the Federal Communications Commission. His presentation, naturally, dealt with topics of concern to the FCC (News - Alert), such as the role of telephone numbers in the new network, security, and reliability,” he added.
