FAXAGE, a major company within the fax space, has recently implemented DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) features into all faxes that customers receive via e-mail through its FAXAGE solution.
DKIM is an open standard related to cryptographic e-mail signing and is designed to allow a receiving e-mail server to validate that an e-mail message did, in fact, originate from the sender and not from a third-party or potential spammer. Many common anti-spam or junk mail filtering systems will use the presence of a valid DKIM signature to make it less likely that an e-mail will be marked as ‘junk’ or ‘spam’ and more likely that the e-mail will be delivered to the customer’s inbox.
“The upshot for our customers is that faxes are more likely to land in their email inbox and not in a spam or junk folder," said Christian Watts of EC Data Systems – the parent company of the FAXAGE Internet Fax service, in a statement.
“This latest improvement underscores our commitment to providing customers with quality service and enhancing the capabilities of our email fax system over time,” Watts added.
Back in September, the fax provider revealed that two U.S. Patents including U.S. Patent Number 8,249,230 (the ‘230 patent) titled , “Scalable and Flexible Internet Fax Architecture” and U.S. Patent Number 8,254,538 (the ‘538 patent) titled, “Scalable and Flexible Internet Fax Architecture for Processing Outbound Fax Messages” have both been granted by the USPTO to EC Data Systems, the parent company of FAXAGE.
The ‘230 patent relates primarily to inbound message processing and the ‘538 patent relates to outbound message processing. Both patents will promote the development of products that allow for flexible services to be provided to clients via multiple interfaces that maintain high levels of security and scalability within the FAXAGE message processing architecture.
