Fax is a hot topic that is in constant debate, similar to what we are currently seeing with the presidential election. Everyone has different views on this technological solution, with some believing its time has long passed and others still seeing the huge benefits associated when implementing this offering into their business environment including improving efficiency, dramatically reducing costs and streamlining processes.
One of those organizations still seeing various advantages from a fax solution is a large auto dealership that has multiple locations and thus a high volume of multi-page fax traffic throughout its various locations, in addition to its remote offices and the central office where an enterprise FoIP fax server is located. According to Commetrex officials, “Their MPLS network did a fine job of delivering faxes to their V.17-capable ATAs, but with faxes at 14,400bps, many of the faxes took 15-20 minutes to transfer.”
After searching the market far and wide for a better product, the dealership ultimately raced over (pun intended) to Smart ATA, a solution touted as being the first and only ATA to support T.38 V3 at speeds up to 33,600 bps.
Officials added, “And it turns out that their fax server is also T.38 V3-capable. Wouldn't it be great if Smart ATA and their fax server were compatible? Well, they are. They report that Smart ATA has cut their fax times roughly in half ... a big convenience and a big cost savings. At $70 per port you can't go wrong with Smart ATA.”
The fax provider recently attended ITEXPO (News - Alert) Austin 2012, a conference that brings together industry thought leaders for almost a week long celebration in which networking and discussing new trends is encouraged. According to Mike Coffee, CEO of Commetrex (News - Alert), one of his favorite things at the show was Smart ATA, a next-generation standards-based voice fax gateway. This solution is the industry's first analog telephone adapter to include T.38 version three with V.34, as well as the only ATA that offers reliable FoIP when making calls to carrier networks.
This fax technology was so impressive that it ended up winning the prestigious Best Service Provider Solution award within the Best of Show Award program for its Smart FoIP solution. After realizing the organization would be receiving this achievement, Coffee commented, “We literally jumped for joy!”
