Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC (News - Alert)) and INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine have awarded RingCentral a 2008 Excellence Award for delivering cloud computing business phone and fax service to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Cloud computing — the Internet-based development and delivery of computer technology — allows users to access services on the Web. This delivery model means users don’t need knowledge of, or control over, the supporting technology infrastructure.
Headquartered in Redwood City, California, RingCentral (News - Alert) provides a hosted multi-extension business phone and fax service for SMBs. By combining a toll-free or local number with advanced call management, PBX, voicemail and Internet fax, RingCentral enables customers to set up multiple extensions with voicemail, automatically screen, forward and place calls, take voicemail, send and receive faxes, and receive message alerts.
Vlad Shmunis, CEO at RingCentral, said winning this award is testament to the company’s focus helping SMBs maintain a competitive advantage — particularly in a tightening economy — by providing low cost business class services that traditionally were very expensive and only available to larger companies.
By providing innovative communication services for small businesses, RingCentral has earned this recognition from the editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY, according to Greg Galitzine (News - Alert), the publication’s editorial director. He noted that RingCentral has excelled at delivering advanced, yet cost-effective hosted communication services to its customers.
INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine provides insight into the complicated converged communications space. Content in the publication ranges from solutions-focused editorial content to TMC Labs reviews of products and services.
Winners of the 2008 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award have been published in the October 2008 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
