IT EXPO West 2009 this week has generated a slew of industry relevant news and announcements that has the sizable crowds abuzz. Now, as the event kick starts day two at the Los Angeles Convention Center FaxCore (News - Alert) has introduced of FoIPBOX II.
A fax communications platform provider, FaxCore’s FoIPBOX II is closely related to its successful FoIPBOX product series, however, the company said, the new version includes some major upgrades
For starters, according to the Denver-based outfit, engineers have added a compact 1U server, and the latest Dialogic (News - Alert) products supporting the robust V.34 fax standard. In addition, V.34 offers Error Correction Mode (ECM), higher compression, and a data rate of 33.6Kbps for shorter transmission times and lower phone costs.
As previously reported by TMCnet, the FaxCore 2007 product line is a meaner and Greener solution versus the competition and can include FoIP, leveraging products such as Dialogic’s SR140, Cisco (News - Alert) Call manager and Avaya Communications Manager.
The platform is the only FoIP solution built on the Microsoft (News - Alert) .NET Framework and has emerged as an ideal choice for companies seeking to upgrade their faxing capabilities using the latest, most state-of-the-art technology, according to the company.
The FoIP-in-a-Box line is designed to provide easy to deploy solutions for migrating fax transmissions to an IP-based network. FaxCore is also focusing on virtualization with other new technologies like Dialogic/Brooktrout’s SR140 FoIP fax drivers.
The new 1U Rackmount chassis with dual drives, RAID 1, 4GB of memory, is designed to handle the Dialogic Media Gateway Series – DMGs – from 2 to 60 fax channels.
FoIPBOX II is a bundled package consisting of:
Appropriate Dialogic Media Gateway product with Dialogic Brooktrout SR140 Fax Software
Microsoft O/S and SQL or SQL Express
First year of support and maintenance
In addition, in the North American markets the FoIPBOX II / DMG product line supports 2-48 lines. For countries based on the E1 Telecommunication Standard, FoIPBOX II supports 2-60 lines. FoIPBOX II also has a Pure SR140 option for those customers that may have a VoIP system in place from companies such as Avaya (News - Alert) or Cisco.
FaxCore is exhibiting at ITEXPO from Sept. 1 to Sept. 3 in the Los Angeles Convention Center in booth #228. The event is slated to provide an overall educational program that teaches resellers, enterprises, SMBs, and Government Agencies how to select IP-based voice, video, fax, and unified communications to purchase or resell.
