VoIP is continuing to get more popular and reliable, as new companies and solutions have proven their increased reliability. The future of business telephony seems to really be taking off in the virtual, Internet-based platform. PBX (Public Branch Exchange) is a telephony switchboard service where incoming phone calls can be routed to different extensions.
There are a wide variety of additional benefits to implementing a hosted PBX (News - Alert) service aside from just rerouting calls. PBX can handle voicemail functionality, call recordings, touchtone menus, conferences, holds and transfers, and redistributing incoming calls to get to the right person. Since the PBX is a hosted system, there is no major installation fee for purchasing the hardware. There is also no upgrade cost if you change services. Unlike traditional PBX services, hosted PBXs give small businesses the advanced business technology that large corporations can afford for a much smaller fee.
Telovations (News - Alert) Inc., a communications company, released information on its newest PBX solution, VocalQ. The new service will give users a general idea as to what’s happening communication-wise throughout the company. For example, once VocalQ is installed it will begin measuring and logging incoming and outgoing calls, how long it took for a call to be picked up, how many customers didn’t get a response quick enough and hung up, and even how many rings incoming calls received.
Mark Swanson, Telovations’ CEO said this new PBX hosted technology has become a necessity in the corporate world to improve customer satisfaction.
“Speech recognition and analysis has come a long way in the last decade and the technology is poised to accelerate in the next year. The day is not too far off when speech recognition and analytics will morph from improving customer interactions to being customer interaction,” said Swanson. “Once we understand what a positive experience looks like, we can model that experience to efficiently create intuitive speech-enabled dialogs that automate many of today’s routine interactions and ultimately provide a better customer experience.”
Marc Tribbe, director of product development for Telovations, added on to Swanson’s comments saying that this technology not only offers brand new services, but has become a next generation type of technology. “The power of voice has now been taken to an entirely new level, allowing businesses to discover the truth within their communication interactions,” he added
So far Telovations’ VocalQ has received rave reviews and has a free trial offer on its website for the next 90 days.
