Mark another victory for iTel Switch Plus. Hosted softswitch and VoIP solutions provider REVE Systems has just been awarded the 2012 NGN Leadership Award from Next Gen Mobility Magazine for its innovation with iTel Switch Plus.

The iTel Switch Plus is a carrier grade softswitch that comes with an integrated billing solution and interactive voice response (IVR) system. It was designed to suit VoIP service providers with retail and wholesale operations irrespective of scale, the company said in a news release.

With iTel Switch Plus, REVE offers a softswitch that has multi-level reseller support, an easy end user interface, integrated billing and Class 4 & 5 softswitch features.

The switch supports multi-modal origination devices and termination options, and includes reporting and monitoring tools, as well as an enhanced multi-tier security architecture.

Using proprietary technology, the iTel Switch Plus can be deployed either in a single server or distributed architecture setup. The scalability and redundant deployment architecture make it useful for large IP carriers who want a fail-proof system, and it can handle traffic origination from a variety of origins, including calling cards, call shops, IP devices, PC2Phone, DIDs and mobile VoIP applications.

Some of the features that set iTel Switch Plus apart include a multi-layered access control that has IP and password-based authentication, IMEI-based PIN authentication, secured routing through Multi Parameter Routing Systems and routing that can be based on prefix, IP or both, REVE said.

According to REVE, the iTel Switch Plus is the fastest softswitch in the world, allows for an unlimited number of resellers and reseller layers, offers single PIN for all call origination devices, has a negative balance prevention system, includes ANI callback facility, and will soon include SMS callback.

Using REVE’s iTel Byte Saver service, iTel Switch Plus also can work behind a firewall or private IP.

One feature of the product that REVE touts is pin-to-pin balance transfer feature that end users can utilize to transfer balances among each other without reseller involvement. This lets an end user top up another account even if a reseller is unavailable.

The iTel Switch Plus solution comes in both Gold and Pro editions.
