In an effort to deliver streamlined hosted private cloud solutions to managed service providers (MSPs) and enterprise colocation customers in all 15 Telx Cloud Connection Centers, Telx has joined hands with Infrastructure as a Service enabler Hexagrid.
“Telx, being a neutral provider, likes to ensure its customers have access to quality, products, services and partners,” Darryl S Brown, director of Cloud, SaaS (News - Alert) and Media for Telx, told TMCnet. “Hexagrid’s offering is a ground-up platform that is designed to be pretty much turn-key on standardized hardware with easy to understand management tools. This is ideal for customers that wish to spin up their own cloud platforms.”
By relying on the strengths of both organizations, the Telx-Hexagrid Hosted Private Cloud Solution will deliver a streamlined cloud package to MSPs and enterprise customers.
Thanks to the partnership, business users can remotely customize their cloud environments on highly scalable, secure private cloud infrastructure using Hexagrid’s cloud computing platform and Telx’s interconnection services. Customers are also able to choose the best carrier with the appropriate latency to meet their needs within Telx’s carrier-dense, SLA-ensured Cloud Connection Centers.
Hexagrid’s award-winning VxDatacenter cloud platform optimizes kernel-based virtual machine (KVM) hypervisor technology as a comprehensive Infrastructure as a Service platform, enabling IT organizations to virtualize and manage commodity hardware as public, private, or hybrid clouds, according to company officials. MSPs and enterprise cloud owners are able to remotely customize and manage their hosted private cloud environments while improving security and performance with the private interconnection and colocation services of Telx.
When asked what Telx hopes to accomplish by forging this partnership with Hexagrid, Brown said, “Telx is focused on helping our customers deliver business value sooner by working closely with partners like Hexagrid simplifies the selection process and helps customers identify the best solutions, locations and connectivity needs accelerating their deployments and time to value.”Expressing a similar sentiment, Hexagrid’s CFO and Vice President of Strategic Development Joseph Seibel said, “We are very excited to announce our partnership with Telx as a unique private hosted cloud offering that only a provider with such a vast data center network can offer.”
“This partnership presents an ideal solution for MSPs and enterprises seeking faster and simpler ways to build the same premium, customized private clouds that maximize business value,” he added. “As the cloud market continues to mature and more organizations look to strategically build and position clouds throughout the world, Telx offers the reliability of a strong connection backbone and trusted data center partner.”
Telx and Hexagrid have been spreading the word about this cloud partnership at the Hosting and Cloud Transformation Summit in Las Vegas, Nev., which started Sept. 25 and ends today, Sept. 27.
