KVH (News - Alert), a Japan focused IT/communications service provider, has found a friend in the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) as TSE has selected the KVH Infrastructure as a Service platform for a beta version of "TSE Market Impact View," a new market information delivery service to be launched on a trial basis today.
“We are very pleased that TSE has selected KVH IaaS as the platform for its newly launched service, which requires a highly sophisticated level of service quality,” Richard Warley, president and CEO of KVH said. “KVH IaaS will allow the platform to scale efficiently with the rapid increase in users expected from to the growing HFT market in Japan. With our information delivery platform strategy allowing enterprise customers to store, process, protect and deliver their vital business information, KVH continues to strengthen its capabilities in cloud services for the financial services industry."
The "TSE Market Impact View,” the first of its kind to be introduced to the market, according to company officials, supplies visual online analytics that are based on the latest order status by "FLEXFull," TSE's market information system. Thanks to the service, institutional investors and market participants can enjoy a visual understanding of their order status in real time.
In order to deploy the new service, TSE needed to find a platform capable of delivering real-time analytical processing and high-volume data. Moreover, the platform had to boast high scalability to cater for rapid growth or a sudden unexpected need for extra computing resources.
The decision soon became apparent to move to cloud services in an effort to maximize cost efficiency and guarantee high scalability and KVH's Infrastructure as a Service platform was tapped to fill these needs. KVH’s Infrastructure as a Service platform is capable of providing hybrid cloud and traditional system configurations and rapid delivery time in addition to high reliability and scalability as basic cloud features.
In other industry news, recently, while at in Cloud Expo West, Infrastructure as a Service enabler Hexagrid (News - Alert) had one important message it was looking to get across to participants – that the company, which was only founded in 2008, is here to stay.
“We’ve really had a lot of success this year in gaining large partnerships throughout the world,” Hexagrid’s CFO and Vice President of Strategic Development Joseph Seibel told TMCnet during a video interview at Cloud Expo. “We are working with Indosat (News - Alert) out of Indonesia, IVP in Japan, Backbone Connect in the UK and most recently Telx. We’ve started getting out there with all those managed service providers and really building that channel because that’s what we want. We want to get out there and offer these services and offer these telecoms the ability to offer cloud and be powered by Hexagrid.”
“People seem to get it and they are rolling it out like crazy,” he added.
