IP Communications Provider AireSpring Spreading the Word about MPLS Mesh Network

With three trade shows lined up for the last week of the month, you might think that AireSpring (News - Alert) is running on empty but conversely the IP communications provider has a lot of wind behind its sail and is riding that momentum into the rest of 2012.

Part of the reason that AireSpring is so busy this month and this year – as it is attending 14 trade shows in 2012 as opposed to the five it went to last year – is because the company is determined to spread the word about its IP communications offerings and its competitive edge in the marketplace.

“The overarching message that we are trying to spread is that AireSpring is easy to work with, affordable and flexible,” AireSpring’s Senior Vice President of Marketing Todd Regan told TMCnet. “We are not so set in our product mentality that we can only deliver a specific product. Somebody can come to us and tell us what their need is and we can engineer a product for them that works for them and is priced in a way that works for their business. AireSpring is an incredibly flexible company. We are a mid-sized carrier that still has that small carrier level of support.”

AireSpring, one of the fastest growing telecommunications carriers in the U.S., has quickly emerged as a full service communications company offering a broad range of products. The company, which processes over four billion calls every year, offers next-generation integrated, SIP/VoIP, voice, data, and conferencing products geared to deliver power and flexibility.

In a few weeks, AireSpring will head all over the country, attending Enterprise Connect (News - Alert) in Orlando, Fla., Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, and Competitive Carriers Global Expo, also being held in Orlando, Fla. And at all three shows, the goal is the same – to spread the word about AireSpring’s MPLS mesh product.

Unveiled last year, AireSpring’s MPLS Mesh network is designed to take standard MPLS and make it better and more affordable. The network is touted as the ultimate product for organizations requiring secure T-1 and higher speed data networks with private network security as customers no longer have to find a carrier who can cover all of the remote offices.

“The goal of MPLS Mesh is to make it affordable and easy to mesh the networks of all of your remote office locations,” Regan said. “With a typical MPLS configuration, a company would pick a single carrier and then they would just pay whatever that carrier charges for each location. But with AireSpring’s MPLS Mesh you can pick a different carrier for each one of your remote locations and we mesh those together. You can pick the lowest cost carrier for every one of your offices and then we securely mesh it all together into a single MPLS network with a single SLA, a single bill.”

“It’s a huge advantage,” he added. “It makes MPLS easy and affordable and it’s fully managed by AireSpring with 24-hour monitoring and support.”

Some of the key features of the MPLS Mesh network include: lowest rates across multiple carrier networks; voice over MPLS (VoMPLS) available; single bill and single point of contact; custom solutions to deliver the architecture that you need and the ability to combine networks from multiple carriers, among other things.

The response to MPLS Mesh on the trade show floors has been overwhelmingly positive, according to Regan, which has resulted in it becoming AireSpring’s fastest growing product.

“It’s the one we are receiving the most quote requests on,” Regan said. “On top of the MPLS, we can layer voice on top of it and Internet so companies can use it as their voice and data network as well.”

As a frequent visitor to trade show expo floors now, AireSpring has heard a lot of industry buzz as of late, particularly call center managers’ cries for help that they have high volume traffic that they are having problems addressing.

“Some large carriers are trying to remove high volumed traffic from their networks so AireSpring has been taking a lot of that business,” Regan said. “We don’t have short durations, surcharges. Our network was built for high volume traffics, built for call centers and auto dialers. We can handle up to the worst case scenario which is call centers and auto dialers – the heaviest traffic – all the way to the small business who has very infrequent calls.”

“We don’t punish people for having that kind of traffic,” he added. “We’ve been getting a lot of business on that the last few weeks so my guess is that some of the big carriers have started removing people from the networks.”
