Hibernia Networks, a provider of global capacity services, has been selected as a preferred supplier of a major IP communications network expansion at NTT (News - Alert) Communications, an IT and telecommunications services company.

The network expansion aims to provide 100 Gigabits of diverse network capacity to support the company’s European expansion and its NTT Communications (News - Alert) Global IP Network (GIN).

NTT Communications provides the largest lit capacity for transporting data between Japan and the U.S. Under the contract, Hibernia Networks will deploy multiple terrestrial and subsea crossing routes to ensure complete network diversity. Hibernia Networks’ network technology delivers the reliability to carriers and service providers with redundant ring architecture and direct access to over 120 points of presence across North America, Europe and Asia.

“As NTT Communications continues extending its global footprint to meet increasing data demand, we selected Hibernia Networks to expand our network infrastructure because of its technology, experience and personalized support,” said Chris Lathrop, senior director Network Infrastructure, NTT Communications Global IP Network for NTT America (News - Alert), in a statement.

“We required a diverse route from key European points to the west coast of the US, and Hibernia was able to design complex solutions that would encompass multiple routes,” Lathrop added.

NTT specializes in IP communications networking, consultancy, architecture, security and cloud services for enterprise customers and service providers in more than 150 countries.  The services are delivered through its robust IPv4/IPv6 Global Tier-1 IP Network and more than 130 secure data centers.
