RadiSys to Discuss Advances in Next-gen Communications at ITEXPO West 2010

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

RadiSys (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of hardware and software platforms for next generation IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks, will participate at ITEXPO West 2010 to be held October 4-6, 2010 in Los Angeles, Calif.

The ITEXPO (News - Alert) West conference and trade show brings together industry leaders to explore real world implementations in tandem with the most promising solutions of tomorrow.

Ray Adensamer (News - Alert), senior product marketing manager of the company will present on how advances in next-generation communication technologies are improving end-user experience while providing new revenue opportunities for conferencing service providers.

Company officials said that historically, for companies to offer any sort of voice or Unified Communications (News - Alert) functionality, they would have had to build their own "service delivery platform" (SDP) to power those capabilities.

Adding voice, text or video functionality is not available to purchase off the shelf. But with the advent of so-called "telcos in the cloud," which leverage infinitely scalable platforms, the barrier to entry for delivering advanced communications and telephony functionality as a way to provide a richer, more robust customer experience is quickly disappearing.

According to company officials, this session will discuss the opportunities and challenges that "Self-Service" telecom brings, and how the "Self-Service" concept is translating into the unified communications arena.

Adensamer will also highlight how audio conferencing services hosted by a Conferencing Service Provider (CSP (News - Alert)) can cost-effectively accelerate new communication capabilities and innovations into enterprise business processes.

Back in July, RadiSys announced the Promentum C2 Server, which the company claimed to be the industry's first pre–integrated, portable ATCA platform designed to provide the performance and features required for rugged, ground mobile applications in the Mil/Aero industry.

The C2 Server leverages LCR Electronics' ruggedized ATCA chassis and Astute Networks' Edge Storage Blades in a rapidly deployable, higher performance platform with a more than 30 percent weight decrease and lower power consumption than current Rack Mount Servers (RMS).

To find out more about RadiSys, visit the company at ITEXPO West 2010. To be held Oct. 4 to 6 in Los Angeles, ITEXPO is the world’s premier IP communications event. Adensamer is speaking during ““Self-Service” Telecom and Beyond.” Don’t wait. Register now.
