RadiSys to Showcase Software Media Server and Integrated Mobile Media Server at BroadSoft Connections 2010

By Stefanie Mosca, TMCnet Managing Editor

RadiSys Corporation has announced that it will showcase its Convedia Software Media Server and Integrated Mobile (News - Alert) Media Server (IMMS) at BroadSoft Connections 2010, to be held Oct 24-27, in Phoenix, Ariz.

At Broadsoft Connections 2010, RadiSys (News - Alert), will join the industry's most innovative thinkers to explore methods to target new customer segments, improve sales close rates and explore new IP-communications service features.

The RadiSys Convedia Software Media Server is a flexible software-only product, providing enterprise VoIP and IMS solution vendors with additional platform and deployment options.

The SIP media server is Linux-based and can be used in enterprise and IMS audio/video media processing applications. It aids in consolidating the functions of traditional announcement and recording servers, audio and video conference bridges, interactive voice response units (IVR/VRU), messaging equipment and speech platforms onto a single media processing platform that lowers the total cost of ownership in an IP telephony data center.

Also being showcased at Broadsoft Connections 2010, is RadiSys' IMMS, which was designed to overcome the costs and operational limits associated with mass market deployment of conversational audio/video mobile services by consolidating service processing equipment into a single, carrier-class network element.

IMMS supports both circuit-based and packet-based mobile video networks, supports RTSP streaming and interactive RTP services, and delivers interoperability between various mobile access technologies, codecs and file formats. IMMS Release 1.0 is based on RadiSys' Convedia CMS-9000 Media Server, a carrier-class Multi-media Resource Function (MRF) for IMS core architectures supporting both 3G and 4G/LTE (News - Alert) networks.
