Telecommunication infrastructure is often a costly and complex part of a company's upgrade plans, and new devices have to meet many standards in order to even be considered. This week, Radisys introduced a new ATCA-based 40G platform called the T40, a solution from their T-Series family, aimed at large telecom companies along with Internet providers, anyone with needs for large application platforms, and support a very high amount of input output connections through different networking standards.
Radisys is an embedded wireless infrastructure company.
The new T40 device caters to telecom equipment manufacturers around the world who need to deliver their software on COTS platforms. It heeds NEBS specifications, or the Network Equipment Building System, and brings high-performance replacements to aging solutions.
The new device also brings decreased delivery costs and improved performance throughout the whole network, along with a higher density I/O throughput, according to the specs. New features include deep packet inspection, better security and several evolved packet core functions. The speed and connectivity needed for today's demanding applications is provided through the T40's improved hardware architecture.
The T40 platform offers a lot more flexibility and performance for critical situations, and provides better high-speed mobile traffic for users. It's an all-in-one solution for telecom providers.
The T-Series management software, which includes platform management along with load balancing support and switch redundancy, is fully integrated in this latest model. The whole platform includes 28 Intel (News - Alert) CPUs with 1TB of memory each. A high speed 40G chassis is included with 160G of flexible I/O toward the hub. A 640G hub provides 40G to each slot, and a next-generation CPU is on every board. An integrated software also enables all the carrier services. The system supports the latest 3G and LTE protocols.
Radisys is a premier provider of embedded infrastructure solutions for the wireless world, including telecom, aerospace and government organizations. They provide cloud and media services, along with platform solutions like the T-Series platform family. Their 3G and LTE (News - Alert) solutions include things like radio access networks, deep packet inspection, policy management and more.
With this new release, Radisys hopes to stay on top of the wireless solution community.
