ANDTEK Highlights Voice and Data Communication via IP Phones at Cisco Networkers Show

The recently held “Cisco (News - Alert) Networkers 2010” in Las Vegas highlighted the possibilities of efficient administration and flexible attendant console extension via IP phones, according to ANDTEK, a company that develops solutions for IPT systems to enhance communication services for VoIP networks.


At the event, the company demonstrated that it is also possible to use the attendant console functions simply on an IP phone and completely independent from any computer. Besides the functions via telephone, the attendant has the option to use a console offering very simple handling with the desktop computer client, according to ANDTEK officials.This facility provides the attendant with a quick overview about the user status on the telephone and that all contact information can be recalled very easily, since all corporate directories are completely integrated.

Additionally the service enables to transfer or forward incoming calls easily. By entering only one search term, attendants can automatically search in all databases and immediately get the search results of all contacts found and can forward callers directly.

ANDTEK software for the attendant console offers an unlimited number of queues per attendant in order to manage complex environments. By means of the queues it is possible to forward callers directly to the attendant phone, the company said.

The software can also be operated on a virtual machine running on any physical corporate server. This feature enables companies to react extremely flexibly to changing standards regarding their business communication, ANDTEK officials said.

With a virtual machine handling the operation, the company can concentrate IT resources and can use the capacities of physical servers a more efficient way. This way companies save on costs on hardware, cooling systems, storage space and energy, they added.

Recently ANDTEK announced the release of a business communications solution for the iPad.With this solution, ANDTEK helps call center supervisors, for example, control IP phones mobile via iPad, can have access to corporate directories and are informed about the status of all agents at any time, the company said.
